Dakota Black pop corn is an early maturing variety of corn producing beautiful black with a hint of purple kernels. This variety produces one 5-8 ear per stalk on the 6-7 inch plant that are both delicious and ornamental. They looked fabulous in our gardens last year and kept well in storage. Please note Dakota Black pop Corn is not a heirloom. This variety was developed by David Podoll of Prairie Road Organic Seed. This variety has been pledged to the Open Source seed Initiative (OSSI).

Sowing and cultivation: Direct sow 1.5 cm deep in late spring when soil temperatures are over 19C. Thin plants 20-30 cm apart in 4-5 rows, and 60-90 cm apart for best pollination.
