Crenshaw melon is a hybrid of Casaba and Persian melons, nicknamed the “Cadillac of Melons.” The Crenshaw has a waxy buttercup-yellow rind and tender juicy peach to salmon-pink flesh.Its tender peach-colored flesh is very sweet and slightly spicy. The melon's skin turns golden-yellow when mature and will have a slightly waxy feel. Crenshaw melons average 8 to 10 pounds weight wise.
