Brussels endive or chicon is wonderful in salads with blue cheese and walnuts
Brussels chicory endive Demi-hative de malines is also called chicon. This winter vegetable is appreciated for its bitterness and texture. Raw, cooked or braised and great in salads or gratins with Bechamel sauce.

Sowing and cultivation: Sow seed directly outside in full sun once soil temperatures are above 15 C. Keep moist. Germination may be slow. Thin to 2-3" apart. Needs to be forced in the winter. Harvest when size is about 6-8" long
