A colorful Turkisk aubergine for containers
Turkish Orange aubergine is a round shaped African species. The fruit is orange with stripes, the size of a tennis ball and a rich and non bitter flavour. Very productive, the plant can be grown in container or in the garden. It is best to pick the fruit when it begins to turn from green to cream when they are at their sweetest to avoid bitterness as the more they mature, the bitter they can get. This variety is great for stuffing.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 8 to 12 weeks before last frost. Sow at 1/2 cm at soil temperature of 23C and lightly cover. Plant in polytunnel or Transplant out when they are at least two sets of leaves after danger of frost. It is advised to stake the plant. Space plants by 60-80 cm.
