The Charentais Cantaloupe melon is a cantaloupe type melon heritage variety from the French Charentes region.  These melons typically weigh 5 pounds, growing off plants that can stretch to a width of 5 feet. The fruits have an orange sweet flesh. This heirloom melon variety is known for being a garden melon, its netted skin and for its succulence and sweetness.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 3-4 weeks before last frost. Sow 1.5 cm deep at 21C soil temperature. Direct sow in a polytunnel after last frost when soil temperature is over 21 °C.
