A Heirloom Indian Melon variety with wonderful flavor

Kajari melon is a rare variety originating from Punjab in Northern India. Also known as the Delhi melon, this Indian heirloom is a honeydew type melon, weighing up to 2 pounds. Its thin skin is a beauty in itself with striking dark green and burnt copper-red stripes and a pale green flesh. We find the flavour okay and not too sweet. This melon requires a lot of heat and matures in about 80 days from transplant. If you are looking for a talking point in the garden, this is one for you! Amateur seeds grown and seed saved in cork, Ireland, not certified for commercial use.
