Leek "Long de Mezieres" is very reliable autumn and winter leek. Very tasty, this French heirloom leek variety can be sowed from March to May for October to March harvest. It has a fabulous green foliage and a long white bulb. The leek Long de Mezieres is fabulous in soups, stews, gratins and quiches. Great for autumn and winter planting

Sowing and cultivation: Sow indoors covering the seeds with 0.5 cm of soil, tamp the soil and keep it cool. When the plants have reached the size of a pencil, shorten the leaves and transplant every 10 to 12 cm, in furrows 10 cm deep, spaced 30 cm apart. It is also possible to sow directly in the ground, in lines 30 cm apart. For fall sowing, sow in place indoors at the end of August, transplant in November for a spring harvest.
