A rare heirloom marrow squash from Syria
Syrian Marrow Squash is a fabulous heirloom squash from Syria. The vigorous sprawling vines produce an abundance of small dark green and light green stripes marrow squashes that turn yellow with green speckles and a light orange flesh when mature. The squash weighs an average of 1.2 kg. This marrow squash is great roasted when mature. In Syria, the marrow squashes are picked young and are traditionally stuffed with rice and meat and cooked in tomato sauce or a yogurt mint and garlic sauce. This variety was one of the most productive and earliest variety we grew this year. Amateur seeds grown and seed saved in Cork, Ireland, not suitable for commercial use.
