A healthy alternative to spaghetti

Spaghetti squash is a heirloom squash that produces yellow elongated fruits with a creamy yellow flesh that breaks down when cooked in threads a bit like spaghetti hence the name. The spaghetti squash flesh is often used to replace noodles. The bushy plants produce up to 8 oval, slightly elongated green fruits ripening to yellow.

Sunlight: Full sun

Soil requirement: Full sun

Sowing and cultivation: Sow indoors from late March through April if growing in the greenhouse, or late April through May to transplant outdoors. Sow direct outdoors from late May. Plant 2 - 3 cm deep ,1-2 seeds per pot. Thin to keep the strongest seedling. When large enough, transplant seedlings into bigger pots. Place in a propagator before transplanting outside. Leave 60-80 cm between plants. Harvest in October.
