The tomato Pera d'Abruzzo or the Abruzzo pear tomato is an Italian heirloom from the region of Abruzzo in Italy. The Pera d' Abruzzo variety produces vigorous indeterminate plants with pear shaped tomatoes. The tomatoes can weigh up to 500 g and are characterized by an intense and brilliant red colour, a flat bottom, green shoulders, an abundant pulp with very few seeds, a thin skin and a very sweet, velvety and delicate flavour. It is considered an excellent salad tomato.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost. Sow seed in a propagator from March in warmth. Keep small plants in a sunny, frost-free environment until they can be planted in the greenhouse from late April or outdoors in late May. Plant with 61-91 cm spacing between plants.
