This Okra exist under multiple names. It is also known as Star of David okra, Najah okra, Bamieh and is an Indigenous heirloom variety from the Middle East including Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan... The 1 meter okra plant has large leaves and produces light green pods, hairy and stocky,. These Middle-eastern okras are best picked very young, as the okra hardens as it matures and the seeds inside grow too large to eat. At maturity, the pods color changes from light green to beige. We advise to wear gloves when harvesting the okra and to avoid brushing against the plants as the small hairs can cause skin irritation. We can only offer one packet per order.
