A winter savory lovely in marinades
Lemon savory is a lemon-scented version of winter savory. it is an evergreen perennial of the Lamiaceae (mint) family. A native of Southern Europe it grows to about 50 cm tall. It has a strong spicy lemon-flavour. Make a great addition to stews, sauces, meat, and in marinades. It is said to have beneficial properties.

Soil requirement: soil should be fertile, but a range of soil types are suitable, as long as it is well drained.
Sowing and cultivation: Sow directly outdoors after last chance of frost has passed from May to August into well prepared soil in a sunny spot when temperatures reach around 16C. Sow seeds thinly into drills 1 cm deep and 38 cm apart.
