Sucrine du Berry squash is a very old french heirloom that produces 5 to 8 pear-shaped fruits per foot and weigh up to 2 kg.  The 25 cm fruits are oval- shaped and turn cream-beige when ripe. The flesh is orange with a deliciously sweet musky flavor. The Sucrine du Berry squash is a late variety that stores well as it can be kept for up to 6 months. This squash is very versatile and is great for soups, puree, roasted or pie or gratin.

Sunlight: Full sun

Soil requirement: Fertile and well-drained

Sowing and cultivation: Sow indoors from late March through April if growing in the greenhouse, or late April through May to transplant outdoors. Sow direct outdoors from late May. Plant 2 cm deep ,1-2 seeds per pot. Thin to keep the strongest seedling. When large enough, transplant seedlings into bigger pots. Place in a propagator before transplanting outside. Leave 60-80 cm between plants
