A bicolor heirloom turnip

Turnip Long du Palatinat is a tapered and elongated bicolor turnip with a white root and red pink top. These turnips have a white tender flesh and a mild flavour making them ideal for pickling, confit or sautéed.

Soil requirement: fertile, well drained

Sowing and cultivation: Sow seeds in spring or late summer/early fall for spring or winter harvest. Keep soil moist. Fertilize as needed. Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. Cool temperatures improve the quality and flavor of turnips. Sow 3/5cm apart, thin to 12-15 cm apart.
