The large summer leek is a very early French traditional variety of leek. The white stalk can become very bulky. The foliage is light green. This leek is great steamed and served with a French vinaigrette dressing once it has cooled down.

Germination time in days: 14-21 days

Indicative Days to maturity: 100–120 days

Sunlight: Full sun

Soil requirement: Light, well drained

Sowing and cultivation: Sow from March to May and harvest from August. Summer leeks are sown in a warm layer (14-16°C) in February-March. They will be transplanted from mid-April to June at a distance of 15 cm between each plant and 40 cm between the lines. The harvest begins, following the sowing period, in the last week of July.
