Sugar lettuce "enciam del sucre" is a batavia type variety, rustic with quite large heads that can withstand the cold and wind. This heirloom lettuce leaves have dark edges, and a medium-crisp texture with very fine taste. Resistant to cold. Can be grown during the winter by sowing it in late August-early September indoors and planted out in October.
