Shishito peppers are Japanese heirloom peppers that resemble the spanish padron pepper. The plant is compact and bushy and produces an abundance of light green fruits that ripen to red with a mild heat. They are best picked young to get the most of their flavor and crunchiness. When red, the shishito peppers are usually sweet and slightly hot but lose a bit of their crunchiness. The shishito peppers are great for frying. Seeds grown and seed saved in Cork, Ireland.
