Fabulous tasting aubergine from Greece
Tsaksoniki Aubergine is a Greek variety producing thin skinned purple with white stripes aubergines. Fruits are elongated and oval shaped, about 15-20 cm long. It has a tender and tasty flesh, giving it a fine and incomparable aroma in the mouth. The Tsaksoniki aubergine variety is very productive and great for container growing. This aubergine will do wonders as a base for Greek moussaka. Aubergine thrives in hot and dry conditions so it is advised to grow in sunny sheltered spot and in a polytunnel.

 Soil requirement: fertile, deep, well drained
 Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 8 to 12 weeks before last frost. Sow at 1/2 cm at soil temperature of 23C and lightly cover. Plant in polytunnel or Transplant out when they are at least two sets of leaves after danger of frost. It is advised to stake the plant. Space plants by 60-80 cm.
