The Cucamelon is a heirloom variety producing a multitude of adorably small oval fruits, light green striped with dark green, reminiscent of a tiny watermelon. Also called mouse melons, the cucamelon ( aka Melothria Scabra) is botanically neither a cucumber nor a melon. Cucamelons are very crunchy and taste a little bit tangier than a cucumber. They are great eaten as a snack, pickled or added to salads. it is best to harvest cucamelons before full maturity, when they are 2-3 cm.

Soil requirement: rich in organic matter, well drained, fertile

Sowing and cultivation: Sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last frost if you will be growing them in a heated greenhouse. Sow seeds on their side, 1–2 cm deep, in small pots. Keep them at 21°C . Or Sow directly outside after the last chance of frost has passed and the soil temperature is at 21 C. It is recommended to give the plant support.
