The Early Russian Pickling Cucumber or gherkin is a Russian heirloom rustic, vigorous variety of cucumber. This variety produces short and fat green cucumbers with dark spiky skin and a firm and crunchy flesh that are best picked young. This variety is very productive and the flavor is subtle.
