A Yummy Heirloom melon from America
Amish Melon is an American Heirloom melon originating from the Amish communities that was introduced commercially in 1924 in the US. Prized for its reliability and sweet old-fashioned melon flavour, this variety produces high yields of 1.5 kg green to orange coloured cantaloupe-type melons with very juicy sweet orange flesh, full muskmelon flavour and a thick rind. The plants produced profusely for us in Cork however may take longer than other melons to mature due to the large melon size. Amateur seeds grown and seed saved in Cork, Ireland and not certified for commercial use.
