Bieta da Coste Barese is a traditional Italian variety of Swiss chard originating from the Puglia region. This Italian swiss chard variety is known for its vibrant, glossy deep green leaves crinkled and thick, tender white stems and its flavourful and succulent texture. The Bieta da Coste Barese swiss chard is very versatile in the kitchen and can be either sauteed, steamed, stuffed, or used in pasta, soups and gratins.

Germination time in days: 10-20 days

Sunlight: Full sun

Soil requirement: Fertile and well drained

Sowing and cultivation: Sow under cover from February to March. Sow 
outdoors from April to September. 3 to 4 seeds every 40 cm, in rows 40 cm apart. Thin to the strongest ones.
