The cabbage Early Jersey Wakefield is an American Heirloom from the 1840s. This variety produces pale green pointed head cabbages weighing 2 to 4 pounds. It is considered one of the best early cabbage as it produces small heads with a delicious flavor and the seedlings can be planted quite close together allowing for better use of the growing space.
