Hege German pink tomato is a heirloom tomato variety that produces vigorous tall regular leaf plants with good yields of large meaty pink beefsteak tomatoes weighing up to 500 g with the excellent flavour of old fashioned tomatoes. The story goes that the seeds came originally from the late Mr. Lacy Hege who sold the seedlings and the fruits at several farmers markets near his home in Welcome, North Carolina. The seeds were first introduced in the Seed Saver Exchange catalog in 2009 by Susan Anderson of Bastrop, Texas (TX AN A) and Neil Lockhart of Oblong, Illinois (IL LO N). This tomato is very versatile and suitable for a wide range of uses. Seeds grown and seed saved in Cork, Ireland.
