Kailaan Chinese broccoli is a heirloom from Asia. It is also called Chinese kale or gai lan and commonly used in Asian cuisine. It produces florets that are used used just like broccolis. in stir-fry dishes, steamed or boiled. The leaves and the stems are also edible and have a sweet and slightly bitter taste. For a gourmet treat, Just sauté lightly the thinned seedlings. The Chinese broccoli is easy to grow and can be harvested over a long period; It will keep throwing side shoots after the first harvest.
