Heirloom Aubergine from Laos
Heirloom Eggplant going back to the middle ages and originally from Laos where it is also known as "green tiger stripe" eggplant. Member of the nightshade family. Fruits have creamy skin with green stripe and shoulders. Fruit are round and will grow to 2 inches. Very productive variety. It is best to pick the fruits when they are small to avoid bitterness.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 8 to 12 weeks before last frost. Sow at 1/2 cm at soil temperature of 23C and lightly cover. Plant in polytunnel or Transplant out when they are at least two sets of leaves after danger of frost. It is advised to stake the plant. Space plants by 60-80 cm.
