A very sweet red purple kernel corn
Martian Purple Sweet corn also called Martian red is a corn variety that produces stunning red purple kernels, ranging from dark-red to deep-purple, rich in anthocyanins, which stand out on the plate and in the garden. This sweet corn variety is delicious eaten fresh from the cob, sweet and flavorful. This corn is also tasty when well dried and ground into cornmeal. Produces 1-2 ears per stalk. The whole plant has a lovely red-purple color. This variety was bred by Alan Kapuler.

Sowing and cultivation: Direct sow 1.5 cm deep in late spring when soil temperatures are over 19C. Thin plants 20-30 cm apart in 4-5 rows, and 60-90 cm apart for best pollination.
Tips: Corn is a nitrogen lover. Add manure in autumn or rich compost a few weeks before planting. Once planted, add a high-nitrogen organic fertilizer every few weeks until the corn tassels form. Keep the area weed-free, especially when they are seedlings and well watered.
