Papaver Somniferum "Danish Flag" is a poppy variety. The papaver somniferum Danish Flag is an annual plant, growing to 50-80 cm tall, with matte blue-green leaves and a large red and white flower with jagged petals, visually looking like a white cross on a red background, often compared to the Danish flag, of about 10 cm in diameter. The papaver somniferum is versatile as it it used for its seeds in bakery or bread making and is a fabulous ornamental in the garden. It is also used by herbalists.
