Very early broad bean variety, has a very short cycle, optimal for cold areas or late sowing. Pods of about 25 cm with 6-7 grains. The fava bean once dried is a bright purple color.The fava beans are great for cooking in stews, in soups, make dips or patties, make hummus, eat raw when young in salads and are easily used in other recipes like for instance broad bean risotto. Sowing and cultivation: Sow in spring and/or autumn. For summer harvest, Sow in Feb/March. Harvest in the spring or early summer. Sow outdoor in the Spring when soil temperatures reach 15-16 degrees C. Sow 10-15 cm apart. Harvest from early summer. For winter harvest, Sow seed direct in the ground in October and November 5 cm (2") deep, spacing of 20 cm (8") with 60 cm (2ft) row gap (minimum). Sow in double rows at least 30 cm apart. If planting more than one double row allow a metre between them. Plant 3 seeds per hole.Need staking.
