A Heritage Italian courgette with an excellent taste
Romanesco courgette also known as Costata Romanesca courgette is an early and fast growing Italian heirloom variety. This productive summer bush type courgette variety produces long dark green ribbed fruits with pale green flecks. The Romanesco courgettes have an excellent nutty taste and the vines grow very large so allow for plenty of space. This courgette is best eaten picked young at 6" to get the best of its flavour.

Soil requirement: rich in organic matter, well drained, fertile
Sowing and cultivation: Sow seeds indoor 4-6 weeks before last frost. Transplant when all risk of frost has passed, leaving 1m between the plants. The vines will spread therefore it is advised to provide a support. We grew the vines outdoors however for extended harvest, it may be better to grow them in a greenhouse.
