Sorrel de Belleville is an edible perennial and French heirloom that produces tons of lemony and sour tasting oblong leaves that are rich in nutrients and used in salads or in soups just like spinach. Commonly used in continental Europe as an addition to salads or in soups. Cut back prior to seed setting to avoid self seeding. Great in soups to replace spinach, low calories and an excellent source of essential nutrients such as fiber, magnesium, and vitamins C and A.

Soil requirement: well drained

Sowing and cultivation: Sow directly outdoors after last chance of frost has passed from May to August into well prepared soil in a sunny spot when temperatures reach around 16-18C. Sow seeds thinly into drills 1 cm deep and 38 cm apart.
