Lunga di Napoli squash is an italian heirloom variety from Naples. It is also known as Long of Naples, Piena di Napoli, Courge Pleine d’Alger, and Courge Pleine de Naples. Lunga di Napoli is a large winter squash with an elongated neck and a slightly bulbous end just like the butternut squash. Lunda Di Napoli is known for its enormous size ranging from 60-120 cm and weighing between 20 and 70 pounds. It has a dark green skin when mature, a fabulous texture, and a dense orange flesh. Lunga di Napoli squash is ideal for baking, boiling, sautéing, steaming, and roasting. A truly versatile winter vegetable for the gourmet gardener.
