Tropeana Lunga Onion, with its unique flask-shaped, elongated bulbs, is a heirloom variety from Italy, known for its striking red color. It is a popular choice among Mediterranean chefs and is harvested in mid-summer. The tropeana Lunga is best enjoyed fresh as it does not stores well.

Sunlight: Full Sun or partial shade

Soil requirement: light (sandy) and medium (loamy) soils and prefers well-drained soil

 

Sowing and cultivation: Sow seeds early in propagator from February, lightly covering the seeds with compost.After 6-7 weeks, harden off and transplant outdoors . Alternatively sow direct from end of April once the soil has warmed up.
