Very common native plant from Vietnam and a standard ingredient in Vietnamese cuisine. The plant is ornamental as well as edible and produces bright green saw-edged leaves with a tangy, lemony flavor. It is best to plant it near paths, decks or porches and you will be rewarded with a beautiful fresh fragrance. It can be grown as a perennial in regions with mild winters.
