Waltham butternut squash is a heirloom variety of winter squash. The Waltham Butternut winter squash variety produces very vigorous vines. The pear-shaped squash fruits have a creamy or buff-colored skin and an excellent sweet orange flesh with fine texture. The fruits reach on average 9' long. This squash can also be eaten as a summer squash if harvested early.
