The Winsconsin Lake pepper is a sweet pepper variety that was developed by Professor O.B. Combs at a university in Winsconsin in the 1950s. The plant produces 4 to 8 square fruits weighing between 90 to 160 g. The pepper turns red when ripe, with a mild and slightly sweet flavor. The Winsconsin lake pepper variety tolerates temperate climates as well as hot and dry regions, and does very well in regions with short and cold seasons.
