The Bangladeshi Long aubergine is a heirloom variety of Aubergine originating from Bangladesh. It is also called Brinjal Bangladeshi Long. The cylindrical shaped aubergine variety produces good yields of delicious and tasty10-12 cm long and slightly curved fruits, deep green with purple streaks running length ways. The aubergines need a long growing season and will need to be grown in a warm environment to produce fruits. They are best seed started in early February and transplanted when temperatures have warmed up.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors12 weeks before last frost. Sow seed at 1/2 cm at soil temperature of 23C and lightly cover. Plant in polytunnel or transplant out when they are at least two sets of leaves after danger of frost. It is advised to stake the plant. Space plants by 60-80 cm.
