The aubergine Black from Raqqa is a heirloom aubergine variety from Raqqa in Syria. The vigorous and productive plants produce black round shaped aubergines of large size. The texture is delicious and dense, making it ideal for roasting and grilling or use in the Syrian Mutabal or Baba Ghanouj. Aubergine plants will need a long season and lots of sun and warmth to produce. Sale restricted to Ireland, only.

Sowing and cultivation: Start indoors 12 weeks before last frost. Sow at 1/2 cm at soil temperature of 23C and lightly cover. Plant in polytunnel or Transplant out when they are at least two sets of leaves after danger of frost. It is advised to stake the plant. Space plants by 60-80 cm.
