Rare American Heirloom from 1883
King of the Garden is a favorite that produces 10-15 cm pods with cream-colored seeds. This vigorous, vine-type lima bean variety clings well to poles and does not require staking to grow. It sets pods from the very bottom of the vine and will bear beans until frost. The large beans are good for freezing, canning and eating fresh. Limas can be used fresh when beans fill the pod, or they can be left to dry in the pod to be used as dried beans.
