The radicchio Variegata di chioggia is an italian traditional variety that produces compact radicchio heads with heart-shaped leaves with large white ribs and red variegation. The leaves taste a bit bitter. They are great in salads, roasted or sautéed and will add a beautiful touch of color to your plate in Autumn or spring. The radicchio is a cool season crop, and can be planted all year round in climates where the winter is not hard.
