Rio San Lorenzo amaranth produces beautiful panicles of red color sometimes slightly golden. Young leaves picked before flowering are prepared like spinach. They are extremely rich in vitamins. This is a beautiful amaranth with two colors on its head for a stunning display. Eat the leaves just like spinach and eat the grains when mature just like rice.

Sowing and cultivation: Sow in trays, under a very bright shelter. Cover the seeds very lightly and keep moist. When the plants have 3 to 4 leaves, transplant in pots or in the ground, in well warmed soil, 60 cm in all directions. It is also possible to sow directly in place, in rows spaced 60 cm apart. Thin out to 60 cm on the row.
