Short cycle fava bean variety is a heirloom from Spain. If sown it in late August, It can be harvested in late autumn. The plant produces long, narrow fava beans of about 25 cm with 6-7 grains that are very tasty. Great for autumn and winter planting.

Sowing and cultivation: Sow in spring and/or autumn. For summer harvest, Sow in Feb/March. Harvest in the spring or early summer. Sow outdoor in the Spring when soil temperatures reach 15-16C. Sow 10-15cm apart. Harvest from early summer. For winter harvest, Sow seed direct in the ground in October and November 5cm (2") deep, spacing of 20cm (8") with 60cm (2ft) row gap (minimum). Sow in double rows at least 30 cm apart. If planting more than one double row allow a metre between them. Need staking.
