Huge butter beans great in stews
The White Spanish butter beans also called Spagna is a heirloom shelling bean variety that produces good yields of large white kidney shaped beans with an excellent flavour. When picked young, the flat green pods measure up to 15 cm and can be used just like French beans. These butter beans are wonderful in soups, stews or summer salads.

Sowing and cultivation: Sow seeds at 2.5-3 cm depth after all danger of frost has passed. In short season regions, it is advised to sow seeds 6 weeks before the last frost date to ensure they reach maturity. Space seeds about 10 cm apart in rows that are 70 cm apart.
