The Winsconsin Lake pepper is a sweet pepper variety that was developed by Professor O.B. Combs at a university in Winsconsin in the 1950s. The plant  produces 4 to 8 square fruits weighing between 90 to 160 g. The pepper turns red when ripe, with a mild and slightly sweet flavor. The Winsconsin lake pepper variety tolerates temperate climates as well as hot and dry regions, and does very well in regions with short and cold seasons.

Soil requirement: well drained, non acidic

Sowing and cultivation: Sow indoors early spring 1"deep, 2" apart at a soil temperature of at least 25C. The plant is sensitive to temperature variations. Transplant outdoors when temperatures have warmed up and the last chance of frost has passed. Plant row apart 24". It is advised to grow this pepper in a greenhouse or sunny sheltered spot since they need high temperature to grow
